2009

Well the start of the year was crap.

First my uncle died of a heart attack on the operating table, that was hard but to be honest we weren't that close but it was still had. Then...........

Grampy (my grandad) died from having a stroke which paralyed him down his right side. He lived for 3 weeks after this happened but couldn't talk or eat. The first day I saw him I cried straight away. He was the only grandad I had ever known.
He gradually got worse and worse, one of the last days I had with him, it was just him and me, me holding on to his hand ever so tight and not wanting to let go. I made a promise to him that he would go into speech pathology and learn to talk again, I also promised him he would come home, but that never happened. I was crying as I spoke to him, he was looking to me and holding my hand. I will NEVER forget his eyes, as clear and as beautiful as the blue ocean and what he was trying to say, he was trying to say my name over and over I could just make it out. That made me cry even harder. The last time I saw him I said my final goodbye and told him I loved him with all my heart and would never forget him.

"If tears coul build a stairway, and memories a lane,
I would walk right up to heaven, to bring you home again.
No farewells were spoken, no time for goodbye,
You were gone before I knew it and only God knows why.
My heart still aches in sadness, and secret tears will flow
What is meant to me to lose you, no one will ever know."

I Love you Grampy

November 2009

One thing I remember was going on camp and going on a bush walk for 20km. On the way back I decided to be spiderman and jumped on top of a rock in the middle of a little creek. I jumped off and tried to land on another smaller rock, all I can say is that I'm an idoit, I hit the rock at the wrong angle and fell, splitting my hand open and smashing my head on a rock. I remember say "SHIT, HELP" and reaching out for someone. I don't remember hitting my head just opening my eyes and lying in the freezing cold water, I heard someone yell out for a teacher to come quick and they did. I was wondering why my hand was so sore so I looked down at it to discover that blood was flowing out of it. I knew I wasn't with it, I could feel it. Everyone helped me up when they made sure I hadn't hurt my neck or anything then began the slow walk back. When we returned the teachers decided to take me to hospital, which was fine by me. We got there and waited for the doctor to come, we were at the hospital for ages. They gave me awesome painkillers for my splitting headache. We left at like 11:30pm. What I didn't realise was that I slept like the whole was back to camp which was about 1 and 1/2 hours away, no wonder it felt like 10 minutes. That was the best nights sleep I've ever had.

I also had my first real boyfriend we went out for just over 8 months.
